Job Overview

To provide complete care for the children (sole charge) in the employer’s home and perform all tasks that relating to the care of the children. To create a safe, nurturing, calm and stimulating environment in which the children can thrive and develop. Light household duties)

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• changing nappies & potty training (at age appropriate time)
• bathing children (when required)
• dressing children appropriate to the children’s activities
• washing and ironing children’s clothes
• planning & preparing meals and snacks for children
• assisting feeding/supervising children’s meals
• cleaning and washing up after children’s meals
• shopping for children’s requirements, where required
• scheduling and coordinating children’s activities
• transporting & supervising children to external activities e.g. playgroup
• planning and leading age appropriate creative & educational activities with the children
• undertaking appropriate outdoor activities with the children
• putting children down for nap (and bedtime when required)
• reading to and with the children
• tidying & cleaning children’s bedroom (includes hovering & dusting)
• tidying toys and keeping them clean
• reinforcing good discipline for the children & teaching good social manners
• implementing daily routines
• administer medicine to children (where required)

Houselhold duties

Regular cleaning required (hovering, mopping floors, maintaining kitchen & bathroom), No cooking (except for children) or laundry required

Education and Experience

• NVQ3 (minimum)
• Proven child care experience with under 2s
• References
• CRB/DBS certificate
• Frist aid training
• Full clean driving license (preferred although driver not essential)
• OFSTED registered (preferred)
